An impressive CV earns a question, not a yes.
Prestige can open the conversation. It cannot answer what the person actually did.

Prestige can open the conversation. It cannot answer what the person actually did.
A strong brand on a résumé compresses a great deal of unknown context: team quality, resources, inherited momentum and the candidate’s true scope. The assessment must unpack the work. What problem did they face? What decisions were theirs? What changed because of them? What went wrong?
THREE PRINCIPLES
Ask what the candidate decided, built, changed and learned.
Connect problem, constraints, action and measurable consequence.
For earlier careers, weight learning speed, initiative and trajectory more than access to famous logos.
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
Go deep enough to reconstruct the situation rather than collecting highlights.
When candidates say “we,” clarify their own responsibility and authority.
Ask what would have happened without their contribution.
Failure often reveals judgment, honesty and rate of learning better than a polished win.
QUESTIONS TO USE
What was true before you became involved?
Which decision was yours alone?
Who disagreed with your approach, and why?
What result would not have happened without you?
What would you do differently now?
